Southwood Sports Complex Facility Policies and Rules
The policy for use of Southwood Sports Complex (“Southwood”) facilities is composed of procedures, regulations, and guidelines designed to ensure that all facilities are utilized in a safe and efficient manner.
- Any use of our facility must have prior approval from Southwood. No unscheduled play, free play, or non-approved play is permitted.
- No play or use is allowed without a facility license agreement, the proper insurance requirements, and signed waivers by players, when applicable.
- All persons using the facility must abide by the lightning warning system mandated by club and league play.
- No play will be allowed on fields in the event of severe weather or lightning. Southwood reserves the right to cancel any event at any time due to inclement weather or any other condition deemed detrimental to the Sports Complex.
Entrance and Parking:
- Gates to the complex will be open/unlocked 1 HOUR prior to game time or 20 MINUTES prior to scheduled practice start time, unless otherwise agreed to in advance. If coaches or players arrive at the complex at scheduled time and gates are locked, please call the phone number posted at the facility. Unauthorized entry or jumping of the fence will result in the team being fined accordingly.
- Jumping fences/gates, defacing fences/gates to gain entry/exit is strictly prohibited.
- Parking for Southwood Sports Complex events is permitted only in designated parking lots. Anyone parking in areas other than designated lots may be ticketed and/or towed. For Southwood Sports Complex events, parking lots will open 45 minutes prior to the first game.
- Southwood Sports Complex reserves the right to restrict and/or charge for parking in any parking lots at any time.
- Bicycles, scooters, inline skates, etc. are not allowed on the premises at any time.
- Vehicles that are backed in must not obstruct any portion of the sidewalk.
Field and Facility Use:
- Practice/Playing areas are restricted to players, coaches and team managers only. Spectators are not allowed on the fi elds at any time.
- Players and coaches must clear fields immediately following their scheduled usage.
- Lights are scheduled to go out at 9:30 PM and the gate will close promptly at 10 PM.
- All trash and debris is to be picked up and disposed of properly.
- Goals, nets, fl ags and/or benches may not be moved unless approved in writing by Southwood.
- Deliberately kicking balls against fences/nets, and/or anchoring tents, flags, etc. is prohibited.
- All tents must be free standing tents and must be secured by sandbags or water barrels. No stakes are to be used. Team tents are allowed on fields; however, spectator tents are not allowed on the fields.
- Signs and banners are prohibited, unless expressly approved by Southwood.
- Do not dig holes, tear up grass, disrupt landscaping, deface property, rip turf, or participate in any other activities that are destructive toward our facility.
- Do not deface any of our signs, fences, gates, or property.
- Children should not be left unattended.
- Smoking, including vaping, is not permitted in Southwood.
- Grills, barbecues, fireworks, or anything involving flames or fire is not permitted anywhere.
- No food (especially chewing gum or sunflower seeds) permitted on or around the turf
- Pets, of any kind, are prohibited in or around playing fields.
- Drugs and/or alcohol are prohibited within Southwood, including the parking lot.
- Fighting, cursing, excessive spitting, loitering, and any other behaviors deemed inappropriate are prohibited and are grounds for removal from the facility, or possible arrest. Southwood also reserves the right to remove any person(s) that is deemed to display abusive or uncooperative behavior.
Approval in writing includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Any distribution of flyers and/or marketing materials
- All vendors and sponsors, including any events.
- The selling of any items (including food, drink, merchandise, photography etc.)
- Offering samples of food or drink
- All displays, such as vehicles, inflatables, etc.
➢ Southwood Sports Complex and its affi liates reserve the right to deny entry into the complex and/or remove any person for any reason at any time.
➢ Southwood Sports Complex reserves the right to assess a citation, fine, or penalty to any user of our facility (teams, clubs, leagues, or events) when any person therein is in violation of any of the rules or policies.
➢ Southwood Sports Complex reserves all rights and privileges relating to any and all radio and television broadcasts, whether live or transcribed for delayed transmission, and all visual and audio recordings originating from the sports complex.
